Founded in 2007
In 2007, we embarked on a simple mission: to offer a product that made tastebuds happy and hearts feel good. We began with super-premium local dairy and the best organic ingredients we could find to create a ridiculously delicious scoop. Next, we built a company that cared for the world around it through its sourcing, business practices and community involvements. Finally, we’ve worked hard to grow in responsible, sustainable ways and to offer our wholesome, super premium ice cream to as wide and diverse an audience as possible.
Our flagship shop is located at 186 Underhill Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, and our Brooklyn production and HQ is at Industry City in Sunset Park.
Our very special ice cream is on the menu at hundreds of food service establishments across NYC and beyond. Our pints are available at retailers throughout the tristate area, and are also available for home delivery nationwide through Goldbelly.
Our Mission
Since our founding in 2007, we have committed ourselves to using the highest quality ingredients with the greatest positive impact on the world, and holding ourselves to the highest standards of corporate social responsibility. We invite you to join us. Choose Blue Marble.
Blue Marble Dreams is the non-profit arm of Blue Marble Ice Cream. Our dream is to create joy and prosperity through the unlikely medium of ice cream. We build ice cream shops with women in distressed areas to catalyze economic progress and community vitality.
In 2010, we partnered with a group of women in Butare, Rwanda to build Inzozi Nziza (Sweet Dreams), their town’s first-ever ice cream shop. Since opening, Inzozi Nziza has trained and employed dozens of women, supported countless local farmers and producers and provided the Butare community with a place to connect, indulge and revive. Today, the shop is 100% self-sustaining and owned outright by our Rwandan partners. A beautiful, critically-acclaimed documentary film, titled Sweet Dreams, chronicled the making and impact of this special shop. Watch the trailer here, and look for the full-length film on Hulu, Amazon and iTunes.
In 2015, we were invited by two Haitian friends to collaborate on a Rwanda-inspired shop in their community. Together, we worked to replicate this innovative model of empowerment, development and recovery in Port au Prince, Haiti. With these partners, we built Bèl Rèv. The work of Blue Marble Dreams would not be possible without the generosity and goodwill of our many friends, customers and supporters. Special thanks to our major funders and sponsors, including the Clinton Foundation, NRG, JetBlue, the Segal Family Foundation, the Edmund and Betsy Cabot Family Foundation, TriBeCa Pediatrics’ We Care for Your Kids Foundation, the International Foundation, Retail Design Institute, and Billy C.
